Little Life Update

Well, once again, a lot has happened.

Nathaniel turned 10 months today and is currently working on walking arround all over the place.  He has only ventured out 3 or 4 steps without any support and quickly proceded to plunge down to all fours nearly missing smashing his head on the floor.  Other that that, he is still running arround the edges of the furniture or making his way arround as long as someone holds his hands.  Let me tell you something though… he can move… fast!

He really is a doll.  While his Grandfather, Step-Grandma, Great Grandma, and Aunt Cindy were here he was just enjoying life.  He attempted (and succeeded) with the ever watchful grandfather following right behind him to climb up a set of stairs.  I had my heart on my throat and was floored by how easily he manouvered the stairs and my only comfort was that my father-in-law was right there to grab him.   Now Nate climbs over everything he can, people included.    We got him a “Musical Table” that he really seems to like but that still doesn’t stop him from climbing on the box it came on and playing with that.

Really… what is it with kids and boxes??  Packeging in general… I remember being very content popping all the bubbles in a piece of bubble wrap.

We also got him a small elmo doll.  He really seemed to like it when we first gave it to him.  My child is an elmo fan…  This, however, does not mean that he is going to get all things elmo.  I’d be crazy if I started him off in that path.  Maybe one or two things… ok so maybe three or four but I know that if I get him too hooked on something there is no getting out of it.

Anyways he played with elmo and tested us out.  He is starting to try out the whole “cause and effect” thing.  “If I throw elmo over the edge of the stroller, will mommy give him back to me?”  This is a game we are getting to know very well at our house.  When you tell him that if he throws it one more time that whatever it is he is doing this will be put away and it’s going “bye bye” he has the nerve to look at you with this “Oh REALLY?? Let’s test it out!” face!   Yesterday he had me laughing all day.  Every time I looked away from him he stuck the toy out of the stroller and held the poor thing in the air until I glanced back him and noticed that smile on his face (the I know what I’m doing here HAHAH smile) then quickly put the darn thing back in the stroller!  I know what you guys are probably thinking… 10 months? that kid is too young for that… I thought that too till he proved me wrong.

Well I better cut this short before no one wants to keep on reading. lol

I’ll just leave you with this image of my super duper sweet little boy.

Kind of looks like Evil Jerry from the old Tom and Jerry cartoons.

It’s Father’s Day

Hello everyone! And happy Father’s Day to all the daddies out there!

Hello

Hellow world!  It’s been a milenia since the last time I put anything up here.  :)

Life is constnantly changing and there really is nothing we can do about it but go with the flow.  Sometimes going with the flow can be as stresful as trying to fight it.  Ladies and gentlemen I am prengnant again.  Don’t get me wrong… we are happy, but it took a little getting used to the idea.

So now I’ll be the proud happy mommy of two.

Wish me luck.  My Nate is only about to turn 8 months.  Lately he has been super clingy.  He is a joy though.

Missed you all.  Take care, and hopefully I’ll update in here more often.

Every Parent…

… has that first moment in their long time Parenting Career in which they find themselves saying “oops!” or “oh shit!” then find themselves feeling completely guilty over what happened to their kid.

 Today was our day…

Yeah so I was frying some eggs and making my Husband and his friend some breakfast after PT.  I left Nate with them while I did all this.

Next thing I hear is “THUD THUD” and “oh shit!”

When I showed up Nate was still looking at them like… “should I cry?” Josh was in the process of picking him up He didn’t cry for a few seconds but then just let one go and i think he was more angry than hurt because he stopped not too long after I took him from Josh.I checked his head, his pupils and he seems ok . I’m still keeping an eye on him but I think he will be alright.

I didn’t rip into the two of them because they looked really scared when I showed up.  Kind of like how a little gets that face when they know they have done something wrong… you know the face? I just couldn’t do it.  I asked if Nate hit his head and they couldn’t say.  I asked who was watching him and they were both watching the tv… they thought because he was all the way to the back of the couch he was going to be ok…. they forgot he rolls and scoots now.

I couldn’t be mad.  I mean, my son is ok and they felt responsible enough.

EDITORIAL NOTE:  MARCH 27, 2008…. I dropped him…. *cries*

March for Babies

Do you guys remember the March of Dimes? Walk America?

I remember being 13 and being introduced to this wonderful event by a dear friend of mine at the time (who by the way I have to try and track down because she was d-bomb diggidy and a super cool and loving person) and have donated to it ever since.  The first year I walked with her.   Now, I think it’s time for me to walk again.

For those of you who do not know about this event or what it is all about you can go check it out at www.marchforbabies.org.  There they have this wonderful little snippet at the bottome of the site tht rety much sas it all.

It says “The March of Dimes is a not-for-profit organizaton recognized as tax-exempt under Internal Revenue Code section 501(c)(3).  Our mission is to improve th health of babies by prventing birth defects, premature birth, and infant mortality.”

So I signed up with some Ladies from my area here in Hawaii.  I set myself a goal of $100, but if it went over that the all the better.  All of it is for a great cause.  My son and I will be strolling along for 5 miles for this.  Wish us luck, and if you would like to help us and the babies out you can check out my MarchforBabies page. :)

Got Daycare!

Yep!  We actually got him into the CDC on post.  He starts in April after my mom goes back home after her visit. That’s one weight off our shoulders.   I can go to training worries free and get a job.  It’s a swell day!

Kid Shows

I put kido in his swing today and had the tv on for some background noise on the disney channel.   Play House Disney was on and one of the shows in it happened to be The Doodlebops.

Now… normally I think kidshows are great.  I have discussed some shows with my friends and with the exception of the telletubies I have defended and even liked most of them.  Even Elmo, which apparently is not a favorite of my friend MadameMeow.   However… I think I personally reached my limit with the Doodlebops.  I’m glad that the three actor’s of the show like kids enough to work in that venue…. but the whole show itself seems to have been created by someone that was trippin’ on acid at the time.

Also… the costumes are a little scary…
