I just took a major step into improving not only my future but my family’s as well. I’m further pursuing my education. I enrolled in Penn Foster College, from the State of Arizona. It is a long distance, regionally and nationally accredited school. Best part, it has been the only College that has approached me so far that offers what I want. Because I’m looking forward to getting a job and because of the baby I can’t really go sit in a classroom, this way I can work at my own pace and have 4 years to finish a 2 year degree. I’m hoping I’ll do things a bit faster than that!
Here’s my tentative Carreer/Education plan.
-
Associate Degree in Early Childhood Education
-
Possibly look into Child Day Care Management
-
Bachelors in Child Psychology
-
Eventually maybe a Masters in Consumer Sciences to follow along with the ECE Carreer OR a Masters in Child Psychology
Along with all this I’m also interested in obtaining a Certificate in Spanish. Sad as it is, even though I speak and read fluent Spanish I have to have a degree for it to do me much good when applying for a job. Apparently, ones skills aren’t worth much unless someone gives you a little paper that says so.
I should be getting my first set of lessons in about 2 weeks. Yay for me!
Now all I have to do is get my GI Bill in line.
I feel proud of myself.

I was very glad to hear of your interest in our school. We gladly welcome you as a new student. I would like, however, to make one correction to your comments. Our college is nationally accredited, not regionally accredited. Can you tell me what reference you used to determine that we have both accreditations? Our national accreditation is with the DETC. The Accrediting Commission of the DETC is recognized by the US Dept. of Education for accrediting distance learning schools. It is also recognized by CHEA. I hope this will not change your decision to enroll. I am sure you will find our program to be well designed. We have many successful students enrolled and graduated from this program. Best of luck to you in your future plans.

Oh! Thanks for the correction! I spoke to someone on the phone while enrolling and i believe that’s what I was told. I could have also been mistaken in all my excitement.
